WEATHER PROSPECTS.
(By the Government Meteorologist.) Present indications (4 p.m. yesterday) are for variable and strong winds, increasing westerlies to northerlies northward of East Cape and Kawhia, and south-easterlies to north-easterlies elsewhere. Weather cloudy to overcast, with rain falling shortly in the northern and East Coast districts of the North Island. Cold and changeable conditions elsewhere. Barometer unsteady, with a falling tendency in the north, for a storm area developing co the north-west of the Dominion.
