PLAY DESCRIBED ANDERSON OUTPLAYS COCHET. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. k (Received July 4, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, July 3. Cochet never extendel Anderson, who early found the Frenchman's inability to reach the long drive to his backhand; a weakness which Anderson exploited systematically throughout. Anderson led 3—l in the first set, then Cochet, improving, took a love game on Anderson’s service. The Frenchman also captured the eighth, which was the longect game. After four deuces Anderson's and apparently effortless drive to the base line gave him the second set. Tne Frenchman was a .game up-hill fighter, and led twodove in the third set, in which he showed out better through beginning to volley Anderson's drive. Anderson had to work hard in the fifth game, but took the next thres comfortably. Jn the ninth game Anderson was within a point of the match after three deuces, but gave Cochet another life. Ho concluded with* a love game on hia own service. FURTHER RESULTS MDLLE. LENGLEN SUCCESSFUL. (Received July 4, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, July 3. Hdlle. Lenglen beat Miss Colyer, 6—o, 6 —o, defeating the last Spaniard left jn at Wimbledon. O’Hara Wood joins Patterg&n in the last eight.
