WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION PAUL DEMSKY v. W. PKEBTON. While keen regret was evidenced at the news that Pat Gleeson, owing to slight indisposition, was unable to keep his engagement to meet Paul Demsky on Tuesday next, the many patrons who were anxious to see the visitor in seriouß action, are not to he disappointed, as the local lightweight, Preston, has taken Gleeson’s place. The latter was bound down to weigh not more than 9st 121 b, but this stipulation has been waived in regard to Preston, which will improve the chances of the local professional to fully extend his opponent. That the visitor is a wonderfully clever boxer and also a fighter has always been recognised In Australia, where in all his recent matches he has attracted large audiences. He is but nineteen years of age, and great possibilities are predicted for him. The box plan will be opened to-morrow morning at Perry’s. In view of the limited accommodation in the back stalls the association has decided to issue tickets for the exact seating accommodation, and as soon as these are disposed of no more tickets will be available. It is likely that the whole of this limited number will be disposed of long before Tuesday next.
