JAMAICA PROTESTS
INFLUX OF CHINESE COOLIES. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association KINGSTON (Jamaica), June 80. The people of the colony of Jamaica are up in arms against the recent large influx of Chinese coolies. The Government announces that a literary test will (be strictly enforced hereafter, and the Assembly is considering a 'bill to impose a tax of £4OO cm eadh Chinese immigrant.
