WATERSIDERS’ BAND
ANNUAL SMOKER. The Waterside Workers’ Band held their annual smoke concert on Saturday evening at Dustin’s Rooms. Mr L.’ Glover, president, Waterside Workers’ Federation, occupied the chair. Several toasts were celebrated with musical honours, including “The Wellington Union,” “The Band,” “The Helpers of the Band,” “The Ladies,” “The Press,” and “The Artiste.” Musical items were given by Messrs Wrigloy, Betts, Goudy, Campbell, Meetcn, Kaye, Brown, the Lyrio Quartette, and a duet by Bandsmen Willis and Croft (cornet and trombone). Mr E. Edwards also did some lightning sketches of some well-known Wellingtonians. Mr F. Croft, the newlyelected secretary of the hand, excelled himself in a trombone solo. A very pleasant evening oonciuded with “Auld Lang Syne.” Mr Williams was the accompanist.
