BEFORE THE CAPTURE
HEAVY FIRING AND SNIPING. AN INTENSE BOMBARDMENT. LONDON, June 30. A telegram lodged in Dublin before the Four Courts were taken stated that heavy firing and emping went on all night. The Four Courts ware subjected to an intense bombardment. The thoroughfares in the centre of Dublin were deserted, and all bnsineaa was suspended. Dail troops occupy Jacobs’s lturge biscuit factory in Bishop street. Casualties for two days number thirty dead and fifty wounded. A Free State communique, issued aft 2 o’clock in the morning, states: “After several attacks on the Four Courts, our troops dislodged the irregulars from the greater part of the building. During the storming of the build-, ing, heavy fire was maintained from within. Commandants O’Connor and McGarron broke through on the Church street side, and attacked the entrance of the court, suffering no casualties. Three of onr officers were wounded. In the desire to save the lives of those in the building, special precautions were taken in the attack, and the fact that the casualties of the irregulars were not heavy is to the credit of the skil of the attacking party.”
