LESS UNEMPLOYMENT. SITUATIONS FOUND FOR MEN. A meeting of the executive committee of the R.S.A. was held on Thursdav evening, Colonel G. Mitchell presiding. 5 The unemployment returns showed that thirty callers had been in during the past week, the falling off in numbers bein gdue td the relief works started in the city, which have absorbed mast, of the married men. There is still a number of single men on the books, including a fair percentage of partially disabled men, for whom the R.S.A. would like to find suitable employment. In the past week temporary jobs were found for fire men and two were permanently placed. PENSION MATTERS. The executive is at present busy preparing easels for the Pensions Commission which will be sittin gin Wellinjgton in July. Any cases of hardship under the present pension scheme should be notified to the R.S.A. which has been instrumental in obtaining a certain amount of redreas in some cases taken up by them. MR ALDRICH’S SUCCESSOR. Air L. M. Blyth has been appointed secretary to the R.S.A. vice Air R. J. F. Aldrich, and applications are being invited for the position of organiserassistant secretary, in whioli capacity Mr W. S. Brown is acting in the meantime. Air Blyth has been in the office of the R.S.A * for the past two or three months as assistant secretarv. 'He was m the Rifle Brigade, and held a commission in the finst battalion. He served years in France and Egypt. Mr Brown was in the First Wellington egiment, in which he achieved distinction during his 4) years war service in Gallipoli and France.
