BRITISH CONFERENCE NO ALLIANCE WITH OTHER PARTIES. QUESTION OF HONOURS. Hy Tclecmnh —Pr<*« Assn.—Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, Juno 29. The Labour Party Conference passed a resolution against any alliance ox electoral arrangement with any section of the Liberal or the Conservative Party. Mr Williams, delegate for the Transport Federation, in moving the resolution, said it would bo a lamentable error if the Labour Party were again associated with Mr Lloyd George. A resolution declaring Labour members being Privy Councillors was defeated heavily. Mr Arthur Henderson said he hoped Privy Oouncillorship was the only honour a Labour man would ever accept. It was the only pure honour given m England. Mr Henderson complained of the way the resolution had been introduced. Was ibis a side-wind, he asked, to raise the question of Republicanism ? Mr J. H. Thomas advised the people who wanted to make the clear issue that Labour stood for a Republic, to take the chance of the ballot-box. “I am certain you will get a verdict. These people are weakening the Labour , movement.”
