SENSATIONAL INCIDENT
BANK OF IRELAND ATTACKED. REBELS MINE THE STREETS. (Received June 30, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, June 29. The sensation of to-day’s fighting was the rebels’ attack on the Bank of Ireland. The Free Staters replied, but were obliged to retreat into the bank. Later reports state that the situation is becoming worse. The rebels planted land mines in the leading thoroughfares, and seized Sackville Club Street fighting is becoming more frenuent. Three civilians were killed today. Fresh terms were offered to those in possession of the Four Courts, hut they refused to surrender and firing; was resumed. The early evacuation is expected, however, as water and light are cut off. Lord Clancarty, who has arrived atv Holyhead, said that the firing of the attacking Free Staters was very poor and ineffective, _at the rate of on© shot every four minutes.
