THE WHIRLIGIG OF TIME

It is interesting to note that Lady Glenconner, who married Lord Grey of Fallodon the other day, is a descendant of Lord Edward Fitzgerald, the famous Irish patriot and rebel contemporary of Robert Emmett, and his wife Pamela. Thus the descendant of a leading Irish rebel of rather more than a century ago is the wife of an English nobleman, who, as a member of Cabinet, has helped to govern the United Kingdom, and may possibly in the course of time become Prime Minister. The whirligig of time haa brought about what was regarded as the impossible a hundred years ago. One may naturally ask what may it not bring about a hundred years hence? Tho times are certainly black enough just now. But time has certainly dona wonderful things.
