SOLDIERS AND SAILORS AT PLAY. At Wellington College yesterday, in the presence of His Excellency tho Governor-General, the Army representatives defeated a team representing the Navy by 18 points to nil. For the winners tries were scored by Dalton (1), Biggwither (1) and Jennings (2). The last-mentioned aka converted) three tries, and was conspicuous throughout the game. Anderson, on the Naval left wing, Was tho mainstay of the losing team. The tailors appeared to lack both weight and combination, but the game was not quite so one-sided as the score would indicate. There were also present—Commander Hotha-m, of H.M.S. Chatham, Lt.Col. G. Powles, D. 5.0., C.M.G., and Captain Curtis. Sergeant-Major J. S. King made a very efficient referee.
