WEATHER PROSPECTS.
(By the Government Meteorologist ) Present indications (4 p.m. yesterday) are for strong and variable winds, but westerlies prevailing soon and increasing, especially in and southward of Cook Strait. Expect cloudy and unsettled weather, with rain following generally and snow on the higher levels in the south. The barometer has & falling tendency.
