MOTOR-CAR COLLISION
CLAIMS FOB DAMAGES. In the Magistrate’s Court yesterday, before Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., George Douglas Christie, a taxi proprietor, proceeded against R. A. C. Frederick for the recovery of £4O 7s 6d, alleged to be the loss sustained by the plaintiff through the collision, on April 22nd, at Kaiwarra, of defendant’s motor-ear and that of Christie’s. The plaintiff, -mho was represented by Mr W. Perry, submitted that tihe collision was due to negligent driving on the part of Frederick, and he therefore claimed the Klim of £l4 7s 6d for repairs to his taxi and £26 as compensation for loss, at the rate of £2 per day, which ho had sustained during tho thirteen days that the car had been under repair. There was also a counter-claim by defendant for the sum of £0 I7s for repairs to his car, and £lO as compensation for the depreciation in value of the vehicle. After hearing the evidenoe His Worship reserved his decision.
