FAMINE IN RUSSIA
APPEAL FOR FUNDS. PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH, June 28. In response to a cable message sent to Lord Weardale regarding the .present position of tho Russian famine, Mr Rose, chairman of the local fund, has received tho following reply:—“l beg you to endeavour to keep the fund open. Feeding three hundred thousand children. Sir Benjamin Robert, son states we must keep this going even if the harvest is good in September.”
