PETONE FIRE BOARD
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Petone Flm Board was held yesterday morning in the municipal buildings, Petone, when there were present:—Mr J. W. Mcßwan (chairman), and Messrs Carton, F. M. Deans. J. Bews, J. Kerr, and G. Cook. The Inspector of Fire Brigades forwarded his report on the annual inspection of the brigade, in which he spoke highly of the efficiency of the some.
The superintendent’s quarterly report indicated that the brigade had been called out on three occasions, but no damage had resulted from tho fires. The superintendent's annual report waj also received, in which reference was made to the satisfactory attendance o* members of the brigade, at both firee and Ernetices. The superintendent also spoke krhTy of the general conduct of the members. The accounts, totalling .£174 9s, paid since tho last meeting of the board, were passed for payment. It was decided to support the action of the Christchurch Fire Board in approaching the Minister for Justice with a view to having the fines increased on offenders for malicious false fire alarm*
