EDUCATION BOARD
FILLING OF VACANCIES. NOMINATIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP. Nominations closed last evening for tho ordinary election to fill vacancies in the Education Board created by effluxion of time. The following nominations were reoeived: — Willingtcm City Urban Area (two seats). Clark, James John (present member), Forsyth, Thomas (present member), Hennessey, Laurenoe. Walsh, Michael. Hutt-Petone Urban Area (one seat). London, George T. (present member). Hutt-Horowhenua Ward Rural Area (one seat). Harknees, Charles Irvine (present member). Wairarapa Ward Rural Area (one seat). Grundy, William Thomas (present member). Marlborough Ward Rural Area (one (seat). MoCallum, Donald. Whiteford, Charles Frederick Alexander. AH the present members have been nominated for re-election except Mr R. McCallnm, M.P., representing Marlborough, who has declined nomination. Messrs London, Harknees and Grundy are thus re-eleoted, and contests will be held in the Wellington City Urban Area and tho Marlborough Ward of the rural area. Tho electors are the members of the respective committees, arid these are supplied with the necessary voting pftporß through the chairman of each. The day of the election is July* 19th, and the count of votes is a fortnight later.
