A FINE LEAD
AUSTRALIA AND THE EMPIRE EXHIBITION. VISITS BY SCHOOLBOYS. Bv Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. SYDNEY, June 27. The members of tho British Empire Exhibition Commission will sail for New Zealand on Thursday. Major Belcher says he understands tlio outlay for Australia’s participation has been fixed at £250,000. He considers that Australia has given a very fine lead, and that both the Federal and the State Ministers have displayed wide vision as to tlio possibilities of the exhibition. Major Belcher has issued a memorandum setting out particulars for a proposal to send contingents of schoolboys from the Dominions to the Empire Exhibition in 1921. He estimates the approximate cost per head to be £IOO, provided the Commonwealth and the States bore the cost of transport. Ho suggests that the Australian contingent should consist of 250 boys, selected from the States on a pro rata basis.
