AUCKLAND COUNCIL PROPOSAL. PURCHASE PRICE £ISO,OOO. PBR PRESS ISSnCT.VTIOK. AUCKLAND, June 27. The City Council decided to take a poll of the ratepayers on a proposal to borrow £ISO,(XX) to purchase the animals from Boyd’s Zoo, at Onehunga, which has been closed down owing to the Borough Council passing a by-law prohibiting tho keeping of wild animals within the borough. This is leading to considerable litigation. The City Council proposes that the zoo be located at Western Springs) Grey Lynn.
