CUSTOMS EVADED
GERMAN GOODS LANDED AT MELBOURNE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received June 2, 11.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, June 2. The President of the Chamber of Commerce brought under the notice of the Tariff Board the fact that German goods have already reached Sydney, a consignment being landed at Melbourne some time ago, evading the Customs officers, and some part cf it was purchased by a Sydney ' firm. The Customs Department at Sydney heard of the transaction, and the goods were held up for a month before the firm was allowed to dispose of them.
