Barclay and Hitohie beat Sherwell and a partner, 6—4, 2—2 (retired). Lycett and Anderson beat Ingram and Swindon, 6—4, 6—2. , .In the fourth round Barclay and Ritchie'beat Lowe and Myers, 7—5, 14— 12. This was the day's most exciting match, Barclay showed out the best of the four players. It has been taken for granted by the Press for some time that Barclay intended playing in tho Indian Davis Oup team. He hasnow definitely refused nomination in tnht connection and some critics suggest that the British selectors may now pay attention to him.
