(4 p.m. yesterday) are for strong and squally east winds, hacking by north to west northwards of K.iw'hia and East Cape, ami variable winds with south-easterlies to southwesterlies ruling elsewhere. Weather cloudy to overcast, with heavy rain probable generally and snow on higher levels. The barometer has a falling tendency, but is due to rise everywhere after about twenty-four hours.
