ACCIDENT IN FACTORY
YOUNG MAN KILLED. INQUEST OPENED AND ADJOURNED. I Regarding the fatal accident which befell the young man Donald Herbert Brunsden, at his father’s factory on Tuesday, the coronial inquiry was held before Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., yesterday. Evidence was given by William Thomas Brunsden, father of the deceased, that on Tuesday morning, when at his factory in Courtenay place, he heard a noise, and, looking round, noticed his son coming towards him, the young man collapsing in his arms almost immediately. He observed that tho emery-wheel had broken, and thought that a piece had probably struck his son in a vital place. The wheel had been in use for about twelve moiiths. Dr Ewart Gordon Anderson testified that death had been caused through shock received from a blow over the heart.
At this stage the inquiry was adjourned until this morning', in order to hear the evidence of the Inspector of Factories.
