A NARROW ESCAPE
FROM FABLING MASONRY. A lady who had been making a purchase at a meat auction adjoining the Public Trust new building had a very narrow escape yesterday morning. Tho scaffolding from the rear of the new building overhangs the adjoining premises, and las the. lady Stepped from the door of the' auction room down crashed a lump of concrete from the fourth floor. It weighed from eight to ten pounds, and, missed ner head by not more than a foot. Bhe hurried along, hardly aware of her narrow escape, but had the missile struck her on the head it must have killed her. The concrete fell on tho telephone wire, and snapped it like cotton. Subsequently the attention of the builders waa called to what was happening, and steps were taken to prevent a recurrence.
