WEATHER PROSPECTS.
(Bv the Government Meteorologist.) Present indications (4 p.m. yesterday) are for easterly winds, strong to gale, northwards of Kawhia and Gisborne, and increasing south-east to north-east winds elsewhere. Weather cloudy and unsettled, with rain following generally, and heavy rain in the northern and- East Coast districts of the North Island. Barometer falling. TO CORRESPONDENTS. “Anxious.” —(1) We cannot secure the information you desire. If you apply to the officer in charge and satisfy him that the position is as you describe it, he may supply you with some of the most important details. (2) No. it is against the rules of the department. "Hastings."—There were 65 industrial disturbances in the Dominion during the year 1919-20, including 39 which involved the stoppage of work for one day or less. There wa? also considerable unrest in the principal coal mines from September, 1919, to February, 1920. “Player.”—lt is a breach of the rules, and you are liable to disqualification. You should certainly lay the details before the committee and captain of your club.
