IVj'OTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it ■Lx is the intention of the Wellington City Council to introduce in the next session of Parliament the Wellington City Empowering and Amendment Bill. The objects that the said Bill is intended to effect are : 1. To amend the Wellington City Trading Departments Reserve and Renewal Funds Act, 1917, as follows: By substituting the words “Two pounds ten shillings” for tho words "One pound ten shillings" in the ninth line of sub-section (1) of Section 3 and in the sixth line of sub-section ft) of Section 13 of the said Act. 2. To confer further powers on the Corporation and Council of the City of Wellington in relation to street widen, ing. j 3. To confer further powers on the Corporation and Council of tho City of Wellington in connection with the control and maintenance of private ways. 4. To provide for certain payments on account of interest and sinking fund out of loans aggregating .£1,708,916 authorised to be raised by the Council by poll of the ratepayers taken on the 15th day of September, 1920. 5. To amend Section 3 of tho AVellington City Empowering and Amendment Act, 19i2, as follows: By repealing the words “no such bylaws shall authorise charges to he made in respect of Zoological Gardens on any Sunday” at the commencement of subsection 3 of the said section and by substituting for such words the following words "such by-laws may authorise charges to be made in respect of the said Zoological Gardens on any day, including Sundays." Copies of the above Bill have been, deposited at the Magistrate’s Court, Lambton quay, Wellington, and also at tho Town Clerk’s Office, Town Hall, Cuba street, Wellington, and are there open to public inspection for a period of three full weeks from the first publication hereof.
