TAXATION COMMITTEE
STILL HEARING EVIDENCE. The Taxation Committee heard on Saturday evidence by Colonel C. F. G. Campbell (Auditor and Controller-Gen-oral). Yesterday it heard the Secretary to the Treasury (Colonel J. F. Essonj, and evidence on behalf of the Fire Underwriters’ Association was given by Messrs Bindlo and Shorter. This morning representatives of the Hastings Chamber of Commerce are to appear before the committee, and this afternoon representatives of tho New Zealand Farmers’ Union.
