COMMUNITY PRAYER
Community singing hae proved so excellent for cheering the lives of well-fed, well-clad, and veil-housed people, that community praying is suggested as an effective method to induce' men in high places to do their duty towards fellow feeing, in distress through no fault of their own Thousands of people in this country are unemployed, many carrying swags anti 'begging, often in vain, for food and shelter. Tens of thousands on the land are unable to make ends meet; owing the financial stringency these farmers cannot employ labour or even afford to feed the army of workers searching for employment. This fertile food-producing country can and would employ every worker if wo had a system of finance expansive enough to meet the economic needs of the day. To overcome this serious financial disability the following “prayer” should he daily recited by the whole community in this Christian country until Mr Massey vouchsafes a favourable reply “May it please Almighty God to influence the heart and soul of the Prime Minister of New Zealand, so that this Most Honourable and All Powerful Minister of the Crown shall be filled with compassion for all persons who are homeless, foodles-, and clotheless; and Whom fee can instantly rescue from the pangs of want and hunger by providing Universal employment through the medium of a National Co-operative Bank competent to finance the production and distribution of this Dominion’s abundant resources, and which Bonk could he Immediately founded _on the sound economic and progressive lines suggested for the New Zealand Farmers’ Union.” N.B.—Tn order to speedily impress Mr Massov with the urgent need for a favourable answer to this prayer all lovers of Christianity should individually and collectively appeal to him to save our fellow-beings from further needless suffering in tho Holy name of Jesus Christ.
