LARGER MOTOR SHIPS
"The striking advance of the motor whip has seldom been better emphasised than durinjr Jhe course pf last month, when, in spi?e of the prevailing depression in the shipbuilding world, three oilengined vessels of 14,000 tons each were completed on the Clyde. They are the largest and highest-powered motor ships afloat, and this fact is significant as showing the reliance which ar© now placing upon very large vessels of tbifl class. According to the March issue of 'The Motor ."Ship/ a number of similar ©nips are to be built, and it is gratifying that in this development British shipbuilders are easily leading the wav. beginning of the year motor ships totalling l>o,ooo tons have bfcen completed, representing considerably larger output than during the corresponding period a yejyt ago."
