At tho swimmers’ carnival to-night MUb Pauline Hoeft, participating in a one hundred and fifty yards scratch race, against the local champions, won by half a yard in Imin 52 1-lQsec. It was announced that Miss Hoeft had beaten the previous world’s record for the distance for ladies by one and a half seconds.
