BALLOON BREAKS AWAY
THREE MEN CLINGS TO ROPES. SUSPENDED IN MID-AIR FOR HOURS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received March 19, 5.5 p.m.) PARIS, March 18. An observation balloon, broke its moorings at Angers aviation camp, carrying away three men who were clinging to the ropes. One dropped when a few feet above the ground and escaped uninjured, and another dropped 90* feet and succumbed to terrible injuries. The ballopn carried the third man away, travelling at a rate of thirty miles an hour, and reached a height of 6000 feet. After several hours the balloon wps blown back towards AngeTS, and the man dropped into a tree while the balloon was descending and was picked up slightly bruised.
