GAMES AT ISLAND BATDuring • the ■week-end a team representing the Sacred Heart' Tennis Club (Tkorndon) was defeated by the StFrancis Tennis Club's team (island Bay) on.the courts of the latter- The games were keenly contested, and the noma team won due to the excellent showing made by the ladies of the Island Bay Club. At the close the result was:— Thomdon, 7 sets; home team, 11. Following are the details of the various games;— Ladies' Doubles. Misses M. Berry and 31. O'Connell (Thorndon) defeated Misses Ross and C. Saunders (Island Bay). 6— 4. Miss E. DiUey and Mrs 1L Wilson (Island Bay) defeated Misses L. Dealey and Flanagan (Thomdon), 7—5. Misses E. Bides and C. Dibley {lsland Bay) defeated Misses Peare and MO'Connell (Thorndon). 6^2. Men’s Doubles. F. D. Dwyer and C. Dealer (Thorndon) defeated R. O’Regan and W. Dowling (Island Bay),' 6 — 2. F. J. Kennedy and J. Delaney (Island Bay) defeated Crotty and P. Baker (Thomdon). 6—3. T. McElligott and M. itcElligott (Thomdon) defeated W. A. Wilson and J. Coleman (Island Bay), 6—A Combined Doubles. Miss V. Ross and W. Dowling (Island Bay) defeated Miss M. Berry ana McElli. gott (Thomdon). 6—l. Mrs M. Wilson and W. A. Wilson (laland Bay) defeated Miss M. O’Connell and. P- Baker (Thomdon). 6 —2.
