TECHNICAL STUDENTS
PLAYING AREA PROVIDED. PART OF TOWN BELT GIVEN. In the course of the deputation of local M.P.’s and 1 others to Sir Francis Bell and the Hon. C. J. Paxr yesterday, Councillor Bennett (chairman of the Technical. College Board of Governors) said that h© was very gjad to be able to announce that the Oity Gouncil had seen its way to set aside 3 portion- of the Town nearest to ihe now Wellington Technaoa-l College as a playing area for the students at the college. (Hear, hear.) The land thus* set aside would provide room for a full-sized football and cricket field; and he hoped to have a little more added to enable the board to provide two tennis courts also. He was very p>eas©d indeed to be able to make that announcement- (Hear, hear.)
