RAILAGE OF STUD STOCK
ALLEGED EXCESSIVE CHARGES. In respect to the excessive charges said to be in existence for the transportation of stud stock, a motion has been passed by the Farmers’ Union Conference asking the executive, to approach various stud-breeders’ societies throughout New Zealand and urge them to appoint firms in different centres to attend to the trucking and shipping of such stock. An application is to be made to the Railway Department and shipping companies for a reduction in the present charges.
