FRANCE’S FINANCES
PRE-BUDGET STATEMENT. THE ONLY SAFE ROAD. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. PARIS, July 27. The pre-Budget statement of the Minister for Finance (M. -Doumer) points.out that tho total debt amounts to 264 millions. False hopes had been entertained that conquered Germany would bear the whole of France's financial sacrifices, but the only safe road was -to absolutely balance expenditure and receipts. Tbe military expenditure for 1922 shows a reduction of five hundred millions compared with 1921.
