WORKMEN’S HOMES
PALMERSTON NORTH PUSHES AHEAD. The Palmerston North Borough Council decided at its meeting this week to go on with the erection of further workmen’s cottages (writes the "Times” Special correspondent). Tenders are to be called for the erection, of three cottages, one 5-roomed and, two 4-roomed structures complete. The proposals of the committee were adapted unanimously with the exception of that suggesting the semidetached hbu.se. The Mayor (Hr J. A. Nash, M.P.) protested strongly against .houses of this description.
