The Anchor Company's steamer Alexander is due at Wellington this morning from Nelson. She will be placed on the Wellington patent clip this morning for cleaning and painting, and is to be brought off at midday to-morrow. The steamer Donald McKay, which is loading in New Zealand for New York, left Dunedin at midday yesterday for Timaru. The vessel will sail from. ULIMAROA FOR AUCKLAND. Cable advice has been received by the Huddart-Parker Company that the Ulimaroa left Sydney at * 2.30 ip.m. on Monday direct for Auckland. She has 180 passengers and. 1200 tons of cargo. The vessel is d-ue at Auckland on Friday, and will 6ail on Tuesday on the return trip to Sydney. LYTTELTON WATERSIDERS. The Lyttelton Waterside Workers' Union concluded its ballot on Saturday for the annual election of officers. Those selected were as follow: —President, Mr W. E. Agar; secretary, Mr J. This vessel has been fitted with 800 tons of space for refrigerated cargo, and m all probability she will load frozen cargo in New -Zealand for Honolulu and Pacific Coast porta. The Las Vegas is to load at San Francisco next month, and will be due in Auckland early in September. THE WHST HEPBURN. The West Hepburn, which. arrived from New York late on Friday night, berthed on Saturday morning. She sailed from the American port on June sth and arrived at Colon nine days later. Uwing to engine trouble the vessel was delayed at Colon until July 19th, when she resumed her voyage to Auckland. The vessel experienced fine weather until off Pitcairn Island, when she encountered strong south-west and westerly winds with moderate to heavy seas. She brought 23,000 cases of oiL and a quantity of general cargo for Auckland. The West Hepburn, which is making her first' visit to this port, is » vessel of 5630 tons register, and was built at Seattle in 1919 for the United States Shipping Board. Cantain B. H. Greenwood is in command.
