The first local authority election under admit franchise wae held on Saturday in town and country, and resulted in success for the anti-socialists. Details are not at hand. H. Diddams. Nationalist, defeated L. McDonald, secretary of the Queensland Labour Party, for the Mayoralty, and A. Faulkner, Nationalist, was elected Mayor of South Brisbane.
