ELECTIONS PENDING
TECHNICAL SCHOOL BOARD. CONSTITUTION OF NEW* BODY. The director of the Wellington Technical College (Mr J. H. Howell) drew attention at the meeting of the Tech* nical Education Board last evening that the board' elections are pending. He reported as follows: —“The controlling authority » fixing the month of September for the election of the new board, and under the Act and regulations its constitution will be as follows: Education Board, three representatives; Wellington City Council and Makara County Council, three representatives: associations of employers m local industries, three representatives; associations of employees, three representatives; parents of technical high school pupils, three representathee, one of whom shall be a woman; members of school committees of schools within a radius of five miles, one reSresentative. In the case of the Wei ngton City Oiuncil and the Makara County Council, a' joint meeting of the two bodies will be called at the time fixed by His Worship the Mayor, and the representatives snail be chosen at such joint meeting. In the case of representatives of employers and employees, electing committees have to be appointed consisting of one representative each of associations recognised by the Minister. The electing committee will be convened by "me, as returning officer, at a date about the third week in September. The election of parents’ representative will be held as formerly, while the election of the representative of school committees will take place at a meeting of the electors which it is proposed to convene on the second Monday in September. The first meeting of the new board will be held on the fourth Monday in October.
