LONDON WOOL SALES
LOWER PRICES RULING. Dalgety; and Company, Limited, re* port having received the following cablegram from their London office, under date of 22nd instant:—“Wool sales continue fairly animated. Demand centres largely on Continental wool. As compared with last sales' closing rates merino wools, super, 7£ per cent, lower; merino wools, good. 5 per cent, to 71 percent. lower; merino pieces and bellies, good, 5 per cent, to-7* per cent, lower; merino wools of other descriptions, 10. per cent, lower; merino wools, scoured, fair demand and a 10 .per cent, decline; crossbred scoured, very poor demand, fine crossbred, sliiped, fair demand; coarse sliped crossbred, poor demand. Sales close July 28th. ‘Bawra* withdrawing 12,000 bales of the least saleable wools. Catalogues are being well clear*d - * CROSSBRED IN MODERATE DEMAND Messrs Murray, Roberts and' Co. advise:—"We are in receipt of a cablegram from our London friends, Messrs Sanderson. Murray and Elder, Ltd., dated 22nd instant. reading as follows:—“Merino and fine crossbred moderate demand; crossbred, medium, stood demand; crossl bred, coarse, good demand. Gorman buyers operating . moderately. Compared with our telegram July 12th, Continental top-making declined 7j per cent. Merino, other descriptions, market shows no change. Greasy and scoured merino pieces declined 7( per cent. Crossbred lint, par to 5 .per cent, decline. Crossbred medium declined 10 per cent. Crossbred coarse declined 10 per cent."
