A sawing match far ■ the championship of Tasmania and £IOO a side took place at Cygnet on July Bth. Murray Bros, were the holders, and Pritchard and Palmer the challengers. The log chosen was an 18in one. and both logs had 'been turned in a lathe to get .them exact.
