HOCKEY
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS. TEAM TO MEET WANGANUI. The abovo committee met in the Y.M.C.A. last evening. There were present: Messrs Morpeth (president), Price, Butcher, Bate, Harper, Stratton, Keys, Manning, and Webley. It was unanimously decided to send a letter to the Wairarapa Association conveying the committee’s appreciation of the exceptional hospitality extended to the Wellington team which recently visited Maeterton. A letter was received from the Taihape Hockey Association requesting that the Wellington Shield team play at Taihape on the return journe£.—lt was decided to conform with the request. The Canterbury Hockey Association wrote confirming August 13th as the date for the senior and junior representative games in Christchurch. The Auckland Hockey Association advised that in all probability the Auckland touring team will be able to play Wellington on the Basin Reserve on August 27th. REPRESENTATIVE MATCH. The following team has been chosen by the sole selector to play Wanganui at Wellington on August 6th: —Goal, C. Moore (Karori); backs, Sherwood (Wakatu), Paget (Ramblers) ; halves, C. Martin (United), Trilford (Ramblers), Price (Wellington); forwards, (Fredericks (Ramblers), Heaphey (Ramblers), Stratton (Wakatu), D. Hood (Wakatu), Watchman (Karori).
