MAGISTRATE’S COURT
YESTERDAY'S SITTING. Mr F. K. Hunt. S.M., was on the bench at yesterday's sitting of the Magistrate's Court, when police and maintenance cases were dealt with. Ten first offenders constituted the crop of inebriates during the week-end, and each escaped with the usual light penalty. John Joseph o*Riordan, charged with the theft pf a camera, valued at 10s, from the Kodak Co. on May 4th last, was remanded to July 29th at the request of Senior-Sergeant Andrews. On the application of Mr W. JEJL Leicester, who appeared for the accused, bail was fixed at «£2o. A woman named Emily May Baker, with charges of drunkenness, obscene language and being an incorrigible rogue against her, was sentenced to twelve months* reformative, treatment. MAINTENANCE 'CASES. Tasman Henderson, whose arrears amounted to «sB7 9s. was sentenced to one month's imprisonment and ordered to pay cost® 21s. Winifred H. Moody was granted a separation order against her husband, Thomas H. Moody, with JBI pear week maintenance.
