TRADE WITH CHINA
AUSTRALIAN PROPOSALS EXPLAINED. Reuter'a Telettran* (Received July 2d. 5.5 p.m.) PEKIN, July 22. The Australian Trade Commissioner, Mr E. S. Little, addressed business men at the Shanghai Chamber of Commerce on the subject of the prospects of the development of Chino-Australian trade. He said that Australia now seriously intend_ed to entur the China market. The first requisite w r as an improvement in the means of communication. Steamship companies were prepared to start direct *aPin<»s from Australia to China provided sufficient cargo was offering. The Commissioner described the wide range of Australian exportable products, of which a comprehensive display of samples was exhibited in the chamber and attracted the close attention of those present.
