BOXING
HEENEY WINS FROM COLE. FSB PRSSA ASSOCIATION. GISBORNE, July 24. A boxing contest between Jack Cole (Australia) and Tom Heeney, heavyweight champion of New Zealand, was held at Te Karaka on. Saturday, being the initial tourney under the auspices of the Waikohu Boxing Association. The contest was held in a big tent, and about twelve hundred people were present. The contest went the full distance, jmd the decision of the referee (Mr Bert Lowe) favoured Heeney. ■
