DESTRUCTIVE FIRE
CHURCH BURNED DOWN NEAR CHRISTCHURCH. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, July 23. St. James’s Anglican Church, a large wooden building in Lower Riecarton, was completely destroyed by fire early this morning. A south-west gale was raging at the time. The origin of the fire is unknown. The budding was insured for £I4OO.
