NEW ZEALAND UNION. * BUSINESS AT EXECUTIVE MEETING. A special meeting of the : New Zealand Rugby Union Management was. held last night. Mr G. Slade* in the chair, and there were also present— Messrs E. Wylie, E. Little, H. Paton, R. T. Bailey, -and H. Combs (secretary). The Canterbury Rugbw Union intimated that the Lancaster Park trustees had agreed to redttce the charge for the use of the Lancaster Park for the Springbok match. The Southland Union wrote in a similar strain, and the Otago Rugby Union wrote enclosing its subscription for "the current vear. The Hawke’s Bay Rugby Union wrote requesting to be permitted to allow the Hawke’s Bay St. John’s Ambulance .Association to sell sweets on the ground in Napier jn aid of the building fund.—On the motion of Mr R. T. Bailey the request was s granted. The Canterbury Rugby Union wrote urging that a special train should be arranged to run between Christchurch to Dunedin in connection with the first test match. —It was decided to refer the matter to the General »Manager of Railways. It uras decided to;direct the attention of the Taranaki Rugby Union to a re•port that it is playing the "kick into touch” rule, and request an explanation. The Wellington Federal Club wrote inviting the Sprinbok’s to accept the freedom of the club during their stay in Wellington. The Wairarapa Rugby Union wrote advising that the sentence imposed upon W. The West Coast Rugby Union wrote in reference to the injury to a South Island, player named Russell.—lt was decided to refund medical expenses in the case. The Hawke’s Bay Rugby Union referred a letter from the Hastings subUnion suggesting that the gate takings in the Moascar Cup matches should be divided in the ratio of 50 per cent.—lt was decided to explain that all the takings, outside the local union’s share, are devoted entirely to the benefit of school football. PUBLIC SERVICE RUGBY. THEi 1021 TOURNAMENT. The annual meeting of delegates from Government Departments was held last evening in connection with the Civil Service Rugby tournament. It was agreed that the tournament should be held, as in the past, at the close of the present grade matches. A vote of thanks was passed* to the retiring executive and secretary, the Wellington Rugby Union, and the Referees’ Association. . . ’ The new executive voted m were the following :—Messrs Gauntlett (Railways), Paton (Mines), Tracy (Public Trust), Phaup (G.P.0.).
