It js understood that the agreement reached that thp Dominions should share in the German reparations due to Britain on the basis of expenditure and loss of shipping was complicated, because such a basis though satisfactory to one country was unfair to another. If losses in shipping formed the basis. England would get practically evmytiling, because the Dominion losses were comparatively,negligible. Some Dominion representatives suggested capital investments and pensions as the basis, but ae pension smiles vary widely a compromise was finally effected under which Australia and Canada each get 4J per pent, of the Empire’s share, which is 22 peb cent, of the total indemnity ,of 6600 millions. Britain will receive 85 per cent, of the Empire’s share, leaving 6 per cent, to be divided amorist the Dominions other than Australia and Canada. Ifl»nter‘» yow.rm.i OTTAWA, July 15.
