INSTRUCTIONS DISTORTED
IN THE RAxvD MINES. RESULT OF INQUIRY. Reuter’s Telegram. CAPETOWN, July 17. The committee appointed at Johannesburg by the South African " Mineworkers’ Union reports that the strike at the Consolidated Mine at Langlante was duo to wilful distortion of the General Council's to suit the ends of the Delegates’ Committee. A number of prominent union officials have been fined, and others suspended for periods ranging from one to five years. The branch committee concerned has been suspended. The roport'adversely criticises the Chamber of Mines for punishing men who struck owing to the niixbxoUir,** -Mil'll ts.
