INDIA MAKES READY. A WARM WELCOME ASSURED. {Ranter'* Telecram.j DELHI, July 15. Mr Geoffrey de Montmorency, who has been appointed Chief Secretary of the Plrince of Wales for the Indian tour, will leave for England immediately. Official circles believe that the Prince’s visit will he attended by consequences as favourable ■as the other Dominion tours. The' Press, with the exception of a oouple of non-coopera-tion organs, indicate that the Prince is assured a. warm welcome. The Viceroy has appointed an Advisory Commit';, e to co-operate with the Political Department, in supervising the arrangements for the visit. The Maharajah of Gwalior and Bikaner, attended the first meeting. Hie provisional programme has been arranged for the visit to Delhi in the middle of February. It is marked by a number of imposing functions. Another feature will be extensive army manoeuvree in tlie neighbourhood, with_ an attack, on March 21st. General Birdwood, commanding the Northern Army, is in charge of the preparations up in the north. Ghandi’e threatened boycott of the Prince’s visit is not taken seriously by the Press.

RECOVERING FROM A CHILL. (Received July 17, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, July 16. The Prince of Wales, who is recovering from a chill, will proceed to Brighton to recuperate.
