BIG CYCLE RACE
AUSTRALIAN WINS FRENCH ; GRAND PRIX. . Australian and N.Z. Cable-Association. (Received July 11, 5.5 p.m.) PARIS, July 11. Spears, an Australian, won the cycling Grand Prix. Halpin was unplaced. There were eleven starters. Spears repeated his best form. He had just returned from a successful tour /St Italy, where he won several races. 1 Horder has not been permitted to race, as he omitted to obtain his clearance from the professional body in Australia, for which he cabled. Meantime he is training, and expects to win several races before participating in the world’s championship at Copenhagen.
